Central Texas Philharmonic

Step into a world of obsession, mystery, and the supernatural as the Central Texas Philharmonic opens its 2026–27 season with a thrilling evening of symphonic drama.

The concert begins with Bernard Herrmann’s chilling suite from Psycho, the legendary score that forever changed suspense in film music. Camille Saint-Saëns’ haunting Danse macabre follows, conjuring a midnight dance of spirits and skeletons with eerie wit and dazzling orchestral color.

The evening culminates in Hector Berlioz’s groundbreaking Symphonie Fantastique — a vivid musical journey through passion, hallucination, and fantasy. From a glittering ballroom to a witches’ sabbath, Berlioz’s revolutionary masterpiece remains one of the most electrifying and imaginative works ever written for orchestra.

Darkly beautiful, cinematic, and unforgettable, this October performance is the perfect start to a season of extraordinary music.
